Analysis
The SEEK Reveal Pro camera is handheld technology now available to the fire department. This purchase will allow for each riding position in the fire department to have a personal thermal camera to help search in a fire and to assist the firefighter escape if the conditions are not tenable.
Due to the timing of the purchase and the need to obtain the cameras for the April-May training session, we missed the deadline for the April Finance and Government (F&G) meeting so we are requesting a ratification of this purchase.
City of Austin's contract # GA14000072 was effective as of June 16, 2018 and expires June 15, 2019.
Financial Consideration
As adopted by the F&G committee, any use of the Fire Trust account in excess of $25,000 will come to this committee for authorization and approval. This item is funded from account 334691-60510.
