This contract is for landscape maintenance to include mowing, edging, herbicide application, litter collection, and other related landscape services for Median, Right-of-Way, and multiple city venues.
Notice of bid #19076 was advertised in the Star Telegram, Bidsync.com, and directly distributed to 26 vendors and viewed online by 36 vendors. Multiple Grand Prairie vendors were available for these services, two of which submitted bids. A total of 3 bids were received ranging from a low of $667,190.00 to a high of $1,619,516.86. The bid evaluation included a best value matrix, considering the vendors bid amount, references, qualifications, municipal work history, and local business presence. The review committee results identified Carruthers as the best value bid for this contract.
The item was presented to the Finance & Government Committee on June 4, 2019 and received a recommendation for approval by the City Council.
Financial Consideration
Funding for this contract is available in the FY 2018/2019 General Fund Budget, Parks Median and Channel Mowing Account (311710-61225) in the amount of $679,000. Funding for future fiscal years will be paid from the approved budgets for those years.
