This equipment will be added to the fleet or replace existing equipment according to the city replacement/improvement schedule and included in the FY 2020 Approved Budget. The replaced units are:
From Kirby-Smith Machinery:
• one (1) new Komatsu PC490LC-11 will be replacing one (1), unit, age 2013, hydraulic excavator in Environmental Services (Solid Waste) totaling $489,450.
Chapter 271.102 of the Local Government Code authorizes local governments to participate in a cooperative purchasing program with another local government or local cooperative organization. Each to perform governmental functions or services including administrative functions normally associated with the operation of government. The City of Grand Prairie does not need to competitively bid items purchased through such agreements as they have already been bid by the sponsoring entity or agency. The City of Grand Prairie has master, inter-local cooperative agreements with various entities including BuyBoard.

Financial Consideration
Funding for the Purchase of one (1) new Komatsu PC490LC-11 hydraulic excavator for Environmental Services (Solid Waste) from Kirby-Smith Machinery for a total of $489,450, is available in the FY 2019/2020 Solid Waste Equipment Acquisition Fund (304010-68300).
