Analysis
The City of Grand Prairie has a water line and wastewater line in the vicinity of Fish Creek near the Lake Parks North HOA. This area of Fish Creek has experienced significant erosion in recent years. The City’s infrastructure is at risk. In 2019, the City completed a feasibility alternative solution analysis that recommended gabion basket or modular block wall solution.
Chapter 252, Section 22 of the Local Government Code allows for the exemption to competitive bidding when the expenditure is for Professional Services such as engineering services. TNP was selected as the most qualified professional due to their familiarity with similar projects in the Metroplex.
TNP has provided a proposal to design the bank stabilization solution to protect the City’s infrastructure. The scope of work includes the following tasks:
· Task 1: Field Design Survey
· Task 2: Environmental & Cultural Resources Coordination
· Task 3: Construction Documents
· Task 4: Bid/Construction Administration
