Analysis

The Tarrant County Commissioners Court designated a portion of its CARES Act funds to provide $55 per capita for direct COVID-19 related expenditures to municipalities located in Tarrant County.  The 2019 population of City of Grand Prairie residents residing in Tarrant County is 61,231.  Therefore, Tarrant County agrees to grand and transfer the amount of $3,367,705 to the City of Grand Prairie. The city may use these funds to reimburse itself for COVID-19 expenditures already paid and incurred, and for expenditures to assist with its ongoing response to COVID-19.  The interlocal agreement is attached as well as Tarrant County Guidelines and frequently asked questions regarding this funding.

Financial Consideration

Tarrant County will provide $55 per capital for 61,231 Grand Prairie residents residing in Tarrant County, totaling $3,367,705.
