Construction contract with LaBanda, LLC of Dallas, for the rehabilitation and repairs to bridges at three different locations within the City of Grand Prairie located at South Carrier Parkway Culvert, Corn Valley Bridge and Shady Grove Bridge, in the amount of $673,497, plus a 5% contingency amount of $33,675, for a total project cost of $707,172

Analysis
The project will consist of providing repairs at three separate locations under one contract:
1. The South Carrier Parkway Box Culvert location consists of providing erosion protection measures (concrete riprap and grouted stone riprap), repairs to the box culvert headwalls and wingwalls, and installation of guardrails.
2. The Corn Valley Bridge location consists of replacing the bridge approach pavement and storm drain inlets, making improvements and repairs to a pedestrian bridge, and the installation of guardrails.
3. The Shady Grove Bridge rehabilitation location consists of removing and replacing the bridge approach slab and concrete sidewalks, and the installation of concrete riprap and guardrails.
Cobb, Fendley & Associates, Inc. will provide the Professional Engineering services for the project and LaBanda, LLC or Dallas will provide all phases of construction such as, site preparation, traffic control, structure repair, concrete paving and sidewalk repair, slop and riprap repair, guardrail repair/installation and pavement markings.
Notice of bid #20158 was advertised and distributed to 25 vendors. There were no Grand Prairie vendors available for this commodity. Five bids were received as shown on Attachment A, of which three were disqualified.
The low bid received from LaBanda, LLC of Dallas, meets specifications and is recommended for award.
