This lot was acquired by the City by Warranty Deed in 1973 (see attached map for location). This lot was declared surplus by the City Council on the June 16, 2020, agenda and authorized advertising for bids to the highest bidder. The City advertised this lot for sale by sealed bids with a bid opening on August 19, 2020, at 10:00 am. Responsive bids were received, as follows:
1413 Avenue B: ($30,000 Minimum Bid) ---Vacant
• Juana Villegas and Francisco Villegas $39,500.00 High Bidder of 2
• Kingsland Property Holding, Inc. $33,975.00

This item will authorize the City Manager or his designee to execute a Deed Without Warranty to the successful bidders, Juana Villegas and Francisco Villegas, at the respective purchase price. City will reserve all of the oil, gas and other minerals in and under the lot, but will waive any right of access, ingress or egress to the lot for the purpose of exploration or development of its reserved mineral estate.
Financial Consideration
The property is currently off the tax rolls. After the sale, it will return to the tax rolls and the new owner will be responsible for maintenance.
