Analysis
The City Council Chambers audio visual presentation system has been experiencing glitches in the form of blinking, extended flickers or no image. This is due to a build up of error codes caused by outdated equipment and lack of synchronization between and code and equipment. As soon as we get it readjusted, the errors start building up again, so it is chronic. The current system was installed in June 2012. We rebuilt the sound and voting system in 2018 for $40,000. The current proposal to rebuild the visual presentation system was not part of the FY 2020/2021 budget process, which was abbreviated due to the pandemic. Therefore, we request allocation of ending resources in the cable fund for this purpose.
