Analysis
These agreements will be used by multiple departments who provide safety boots and shoes for their employees. Each department who provides footwear gives an allowance of $100-$150 annually per employee. Awarding two agreements provides for the best flexibility for employees.
Notice of bid #21011 was advertised in the Fort Worth Star Telegram and Public Purchase; it was distributed to 67 vendors. There were 16 HUBs available for this commodity, none submitting. There were zero Grand Prairie vendors available for this commodity. Two bids were received as shown on attachment A.
Staff recommends a split award to Work Wear Shoes in the amount of $25,000 and Red Wing Brands of America in the amount of $25,000. Work Wear provided the best overall discount and widest selection of products and Red Wing provided the second overall best discount.
Financial Consideration
Funds are available in various department's operation budgets and will be charged accordingly on orders through the end of the fiscal year. Funding for future fiscal years will be paid from that year's approved budgets.
