Analysis

Texas Department of Transportation provides litter and mowing along many rights of way in Grand Prairie.  What is provided by them is does not adequately address the unkempt appearances of these highly visible transportation corridors, such as I-20, I-30 and Hwy 360.  In order to alleviate the unsightly litter and high grass that results in a less than favorable impression, the City Council approved an amount of $100,000 from the FY17 Solid Waste and Recycling Budget for TXDOT Right of Way Litter Collection and Mowing.

A presentation will be made to discuss proposed areas to be addressed as well as the cost per acre for litter collection and cost per acre for mowing. 

Financial Consideration

An amount of $100,000 is available in the approved FY17 Solid Waste Operating Budget for this project.
