Contract with the recommended best value contractor, Carruthers Landscape, for Median and Right-of-Way mowing services with an estimated annual cost of $222,000 for one year with the option to renew for (4) four additional one-year periods totaling $1,110,000, if all extensions are exercised; and authorize the City Manager to execute the renewal option with aggregate price fluctuations of the lesser of up to $50,000 or $25% of the original maximum price so long as sufficient funding is appropriated by the City Council to satisfy the City's obligation during the renewal terms

This contract is for median and Right-of-Way maintenance to include mowing, edging, herbicide application, litter collection, and other related landscape services.
Notice of bid #17057 was viewed by 36 vendors. A total of 6 bids were received in the office of the Purchasing Manager on February 22, 2017 ranging from a low of $222,000 to a high of $368,354. The bid format included a best value matrix, considering the vendors bid amount, references, experience, work history, personnel and equipment. The review committee results identified Carruthers as the best value bid for this contract.
The item was presented to the Finance & Government Committee on May 2, 2017 and received a recomendation for approval by the City Council.
Financial Consideration
Funding for this contract is available in the FY 2016/2017 General Fund Budget, Parks Median and Channel Mowing Account (311710-61125) in the amount of $307,055. Funding for future fiscal years will be paid from those year's approved budgets.
