Analysis
A 2012 Dodge was initially purchased and outfitted as the EMS Supervisor vehicle. That initial configuration was not conducive for the vehicle's application of transporting hazardous materials and equipment. The requested funds will provide for a compartmentalized, light-weight bed configuration for transportation, storage, and make-ready availability, all in accordance with accepted practices of emergent hazardous materials equipment. This new configuration will also provide a working platform while attached to the hazardous materials trailer providing ease of access to all equipment. Interior compartment access was a feature that was not available with the previous version while connected to the hazardous materials trailer.
The requested modified configuration meets our current needs while still maintaining the vehicle's weight restrictions in accordance with Federal Transportation Regulations. The total purchase price for the outiftting reconfiguation will be $37,118.
