Analysis

Notice of bid #18049 was advertised and distributed to 30 vendors for the purchase of herbicides, insecticides, and other related chemical for the Parks Department's golf courses.  There were no Grand Prairie vendors available for this commodity.  Five bids were received as shown on Attachment A.  Four of the five bids were partial bids, one vendor bid all 51 items (Eliminating item #50 - Specticle is Agency priced).  Staff recommends finding the benefits of dealing with one large contract outweighs the cost savings available through seven smaller contracts and thus is in the best interest of the City.

Innovative Turf Supply meets specifications and is recommended for award, as it was the only vendor that could supply all products specified.

This item was presented to the Financial and Government Committee on April 3, 2018 and received recommendation for approval by the City Council.
