Analysis
Shortly after the airport's newest flight school began operations an issue was discovered causing a bottle neck of departing aircraft at the south end of Taxiway A and the associated holding bay. The design and construction of Taxiway A and Holding Bay Extension at the Grand Prairie Municipal Airport will alleviate the issue and allow aircraft traffic to flow and takeoff in a more expedient manner. The estimated design fee is $195,000.
TxDOT's portion of the design work will cost $156,000 with the City paying $39,000 for a total cost of $195,000.
Financial Consideration
Funds are available for the design of Taxiway A and Holding Bay Extension at the Grand Prairie Municipal Airport, in the amount of $39,000, by approving an ordinance transferring from the unobligated fund balance in the Airport Capital Projects Fund (505292) to WO# 01817001 (Taxiway A and Holding Bay Extension).

NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT ORDAINED BY THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF GRAND PRAIRIE, TEXAS:
SECTION 1. THAT the FY 2017/2018 Capital Improvements Project Budget by amended by appropriating $39,000 from the unobligated fund balance in the Airport Capital Projects Fund (505292) WO# 01817001 (Taxiway A and Holding Bay Extension)
