Analysis
Every year departments purchase shirts, caps and accessories for their employees to wear to represent the City. This contract will be used to embroider the City’s logo on these items as well as to purchase said items at a discount. Some departments also purchase these items for special events, such as 5k walks, summer programs, recycling awareness, and WOW programs as well as many others.
Notice of bid #18089 was advertised in the Fort Worth Star Telegram, and Bid Sync; it was distributed to 30 vendors. There were four Grand Prairie vendors available for this commodity. Eight bids were received as shown on Exhibit A.
The award was based on best value criteria set up in the specification, including reputation, quality of product/services, price, past relationship with the city and other municipalities, and location.
ADventures and Texas Sportswear meet specifications and are recommended for award.
Financial Consideration
Funds are available in various departments operating budgets and will be charged accordingly on orders through the end of the fiscal year. Funding for future fiscal years will be paid from that year’s approved budgets.
