Analysis
The purchase of one Dell EMC Unity300 Storage Area Network (SAN) for the Public Safety Building data center virtual computing environment from Netsync Network Solutions through the national inter-local agreements with DIR was approved during the May 1st, 2018 Council Meeting, however IT management and Netsync Network Solutions decided not to move forward with the Dell EMC Unity300 SAN and instead upgrade to a solution that is more technological advanced, reliable and able to scale-out for future enhancements.
This approval request is to facilitate demand for additional virtual compute resources and enhance storage resources for the public safety data center. By acquiring this system we will be proactive in maintaining our systems due to the current storage and virtual compute system nearing end of life and support.
