Analysis
On November 3, 2015, the City of Grand Prairie awarded a construction contract to Ace Pipe Cleaning, Inc. in the amount of $753,163.50 and approved a 5% contingency of $37,658.00 for a total of $790,821.50 for the wastewater replacements construction project.
This proposed Change Order/Amendment No. 2 in the net amount of $47,099.20 provides for the installation of a new 8” wastewater main across Tarrant Road by open cut instead of by pipe bursting as noted in the construction plans; additional wastewater line TV inspection and abandonment in place at the Tarrant Road location; shifting buried electrical cables out of the new wastewater line trench at the Tarrant Road location; and additional sod replacement at the Marshall Drive location.
Change Order/Amendment No. 1 was for a time extension only.
The revised overall project completion date for the construction contract is Friday, January 13, 2017.
Financial Consideration
Funding in the total amount of $47,100 is available as follows:
1. $37,658 is available in Wastewater Capital Projects Fund (500692) WO #01510303 (FY15 Wastewater Main Replacements) Contract (C16010) Contingency (Line 2).
2. $9,442 is available by appropriating and transferring from the unobligated fund balance of Wastewater Capital Projects Fund (500692) to WO #01510303 (FY15 Wastewater Main Replacements).

AN ORDINANCE OF THE CITY OF GRAND PRAIRIE, TEXAS, AMENDING THE FY 2016/2017 CAPITAL IMPROVEMENT PROJECTS BUDGET BY TRANSFERRING AND APPROPRIATING $9,442 FROM THE UNOBLIGATED FUND BALANCE IN THE WASTEWATER CAPITAL PROJECTS FUND (500692) TO WO #01510303 (FY 15 WASTEWATER MAIN REPLACEMENTS)
NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT ORDAINED BY THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF GRAND PRAIRIE, TEXAS:
SECTION 1. THAT THE FY 2016/2017 Capital Improvement Projects Budget be amended by transferring and appropriating $9,442 from the unobligated fund balance in the Wastewater Capital Projects Fund (500692) WO#01510303 (FY15 Wastewater Main Replacements).
