Analysis
The price agreement is for the purchase of reinforced concrete pipe at an estimated annual cost of $60,000, to be used by Street Service Division. Annual estimated quantities are not known and vary from year to year. Award will be based on low bid which meets the specification.
Notice of bid #15148 was advertised and viewed by 19 vendors, including one Grand Prairie vendor. Only one bid was received and opened on August 24, 2015, for a one year price agreement for the purchase of reinforced concrete pipe to be used by the Street Maintenance Division.
The only bid received was from Hanson Pipe & Precast meets specifications and is recommended for award.
Financial Consideration
Funding for reinforced concrete pipe with Hanson Pipe in the amount of $60,000 is available in the FY 2015/2016 Proposed General Fund Budget, Public Works Department, Accounting Unit 251110, Account Code 63030 (Streets, Roads, Highway Maintenance) and Accounting Unit 251210, Account Code 63030 (Streets, Roads, Highway Maintenance); Storm Water Utility Fund 257010, Account Code 63030 (Streets, Roads, Highway Maintenance).
Funds will be charged accordingly on orders through the end of the current fiscal year. Funding for the future fiscal years will be paid from that year’s approved budget.
