Analysis
The Tarrant County 9-1-1 District Public Safety Answering Points (PSAP) Assistance Program will reimburse the City of Grand Prairie 9-1-1 Communications Center for 9-1-1 related equipment and supplies. The City of Grand Prairie has been allocated $78,354 for Fiscal Year FY2018 and may seek reimbursement for 9-1-1 related equipment and supplies before August 31, 2018.
Communications currently has several dispatch workstations which are no longer under warranty and will need to be repaired or replaced. The Communications Center will utilize the funds from this reimbursement program to cover the cost of these replacements or repairs on an as needed basis.
Chapter 271.102 of the Local Government Code authorizes local governments to participate in a cooperative purchasing program with another local government or local cooperative organization. In lieu of competitive bidding, items and services may be purchased through such agreements as the agreements have already been bid by the sponsoring entity or agency. The City of Grand Prairie has master inter-local cooperative agreements with various entities including HGAC.
The HGAC primarily offers products that are utilized in Public Safety, Public Works, and Communications, in addition to professional consulting, personnel and financing services. A wide variety of capital equipment is under contract, and through a unique feature of HGACBuy it can be customized through the use of published and unpublished options to fit your specifications and requirements.
Xybix Systems, Inc. through their HGAC contract offers Police Dispatch Consoles the City requires.
The HGAC Contract No. EC07-16 began July 1, 2016 and will expire June 30, 2018.
Financial Consideration
Funding is available through the FY2018 Public Safety Answering Points Assistance Program (PSAP).
