Analysis
The engineering firm of Freese & Nichols developed the City's Master Water Plan and Hydraulic Model. As such we need an "on-call" contract with that firm in order to run "what if" scenarios relating to new development and/or analyzing problems that may arise in operation of the system. We regularly seek the advice of this firm in this regard to such issues as well as other planning changes impacting the water system. The amount we will actually spend on this contract is uncertain since we do not know what planning and development will take place.
Financial Consideration
Funding in the total amount of $50,000 is available by transferring and appropriating from the unobligated fund balance of the Water Capital Projects Fund (500592) to WO#01714903 (Support for Water System Modeling and Planning) 61041 (Professional Engineering Services).

AN ORDINANCE OF THE CITY OF GRAND PRAIRIE, TEXAS, AMENDING THE FY 2016/2017 CAPITAL IMPROVEMENT PROJECTS BUDGET BY TRANSFERRING AND APPROPRIATING $50,000 FROM THE UNOBLIGATED FUND BALANCE IN THE WATER CAPITAL PROJECTS FUND (500592) WO#01714903 (SUPPORT FOR WATER SYSTEM MODELING AND PLANNING)
NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT ORDAINED BY THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF GRAND PRAIRIE, TEXAS:
SECTION 1. THAT THE FY 2016/2017 Capital Improvement Projects Budget be amended by transferring and appropriating $50,000 from the unobligated fund balance in the Water Capital Projects Fund (500592) WO#01714903 (Support for Water System Modeling and Planning)
