Analysis

On September 4th, 2012, the City Council approved Professional Services Contract to The Broussard Group (TBG Partners) for the Great Southwest Parkway Gateway project.  The project allowed for a new entry monument with landscaping for Interstate 20 right-of-way at Great Southwest Parkway.   TBG served as the prime consultant for the landscape and environmental graphics, in association with sub-consultants for survey, geotechnical design, and irrigation design.

The Texas Department of Transportation (TxDOT) owns and maintains a system of highways, including Interstate 20 (IH20) in Tarrant County, Texas, for public use and benefit. TxDOT has authorized the construction of a Gateway Monument within the State’s right-of-way, and the City has agreed to construct the Monument and to conduct the long term maintenance of the structure referred to as the "Gateway Monument," at the southwest corner of IH20 at Great Southwest Parkway.

On January 6th, 2015, the City Council approved a resolution authorizing the City Manager to execute the Interlocal Agreement with TxDOT for the Great Southwest Parkway Gateway Monument.
