Analysis
On June 2, 2015, Council approved a Guaranteed Maximum Price (GMP) construction contract with Pogue Construction in the amount of $5,069,871, and established a 5% contingency in the amount of $253,494 for a new Fire Station No. 10 to be constructed in the Lake Peninsula sector of the City. The Notice to Proceed letter was issued on 8/11/15, and construction commenced shortly thereafter. (15-4677)
Change Order No. 1 in the amount of $102,217 approved by Council on November 17, 2015 allowed for foundation pier casings that were necessary due to an unacceptable level of water seepage within the drilled holes. In the final analysis, all 123 piers on site required casings. (15-5173). Change Order No. 2 in the total amount of $44,227.97 approved by Council on June 21, 2016 was made up of various items for IT and radio communications and aesthetic modifications to the site and building. Council communication for Change Order No. 2, advised Council that any remaining funds would go towards a possible future fueling station at Fire Station 10.
The actual tank was purchased in November 2016 in the amount of $45,810 from Stovall Corporation thru a TASB BuyBoard purchasing agreement #419-13. It included a 4,000 gallon tank and appurentenances along with the crane and supervisory technicians for installation.
We are now requesting an additional $173,899 for construction of the fuel island and $8,695 for 5% construction contingency. The requested Stovall Corporation contract, also thru TASB BuyBoard purchasing agreement #419-13, will cover a mechanical fuel station, canopy and piers, landscaping and a fuel management system.
Funds in excess of $300,000 are currently available from the construction savings of Fire Station 10.

Financial Consideration
Funding for the Fuel Island for Fire Station 10 from Stovall Corporation in the estimated amount of $173,899 with a 5% contingency of $8,695 for a total request of $182,594, is available in the Fire Capital Projects Fund (400591) to WO #01400601-03 (Station 10) 68540 (Construction).
