Analysis

On September 18, 2012, City Council approved an Engineering Services Contract with Halff Associates for the design of the eastbound IH 30 frontage road between NW 7th and Beltline Road in the amount of $366,200.

 

This Amendment/Change Order No. 1 to the consultant contract, in the amount of $299,600, provides for additional services necessary to complete the schematic design, implement the Value Engineering ideas, and complete the Environmental Assessment as required by TxDOT to advance the project to construction.  This revised Amendment/Change Order No. 1 to the consultant will also provide for the additional design of the Connector Road between Tarrant Road and the future eastbound IH 30 Frontage Road between NW 7th to Belt Line Road.

 

Design for the eastbound IH 30 Frontage Road between NW 7th and Belt Line Road is scheduled to be completed in December 2015 with bidding and construction to follow.  This project requires TxDOT review and approval.

 

Financial Consideration

Funding for Amendment/Change Order No. 1 is available by approving an ordinance transferring and appropriating $299,600 from the unobligated fund balance in the Street Capital Projects Fund (400192) to the Grants Life Budget (300592) I30B (IH-30 Frontage Roads Design B) 68450 (Engineering-Design)

AN ORDINANCE OF THE CITY OF GRAND PRAIRIE, TEXAS, AMENDING THE FY 2015/2016 CAPITAL IMPROVEMENT PROJECTS BUDGET BY TRANSFERRING AND APPROPRIATING $299,600 FROM THE UNOBLIGATED FUND BALANCE IN THE STREET CAPITAL PROJECTS FUND (400192) TO THE GRANTS LIFE BUDGET (300592) I30B (IH-30 FRONTAGE ROADS DESIGN B) 68450 (ENGINEERING-DESIGN)

 

NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT ORDAINED BY THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF GRAND PRAIRIE, TEXAS:

 

SECTION 1.  THAT the FY 2015/2016 Capital Improvement Projects Budget be amended by transferring and appropriating $299,600 from the unobligated fund balance in the Street Capital Projects Fund (400192) to the Grants Life Budget (300592) I30B (IH-30 Frontage Roads Design B) 68450 (Engineering-Design).
