Analysis

This agreement is for the operation and management of Grand Prairie Skate Park, which includes ramps, shade structures, outdoor basketball courts, pro shop/concession area, BMX course, workout building, and restrooms.  This will include the employment of experienced and professional staff that adheres to the City’s primary goal of creating Raving Fans by delivering world class service. Grand Prairie Skate Park is a park developed to provide facilities for the use and the viewing of skateboards, roller blades, bicycles, roller hockey and other devices, entertainment and concessions which primarily attract adolescents, pre-adolescents, families and young adults.

 

Notice of bid #18043 was advertised in the Fort Worth Star Telegram, and Bid Sync; it was distributed to fifteen vendors. There were no Grand Prairie vendors available for this commodity.  One bid was received as shown on attachment A.

 

The proposal received from Action Park Alliance meets specifications and is recommended for award.   The new proposal will allow Grand Prairie residents free usage.

 

This item was presented to the Finance and Government Committee on March 6, 2018 and received recommendation for approval by the City Council.

 

Financial Consideration

Funding for a Price agreement for Grand Prairie Skate Park Operations from Action Park Alliance is available in the amount of $15,000 in the FY 2017/2018 Skate Park Fund ( 315710) Contractual Services (61065) and will be charged accordingly on orders through the end of the current fiscal year.  Funding for future fiscal years will be paid from that year’s approved budgets.
