Analysis

Phase II of the RJC interior renovation is a continuation of our overall project which began in 2018.  Phase II will include the following:

Create a bridal suite with private restroom in the Dechman Room area

Replace the flooring in the Smith and Warder Conference Room

Create a kitchen office for our executive chef

Repair and replace elements of the lobby fountain that are deteriorating

                     Replace select facility furnishing

Chapter 271.102 of the Local Government Code authorizes local governments to participate in a cooperative purchasing program with another local government or local cooperative organization. In lieu of competitive bidding, items and services may be purchased through such agreements as the agreements have already been bid by the sponsoring entity or agency.  The City of Grand Prairie has master inter-local cooperative agreements with various entities including U.S. Communities.

U.S. Communities is the leading national government purchasing cooperative, providing world class government procurement resources and solutions to local and state government agencies, school districts (K-12), higher education institutes, and nonprofits looking for the best overall supplier government pricing.

The Home Depot’s US Communities contract #16154 was effective February 1, 2017 and will expire December 31, 2021.

This item was presented to the Finance & Government Committee on February 5, 2019 and received recommendation for approval by the City Council.
