Analysis
On August 1, 2017, City Council approved an agreement with Miami Partners LLC and Highway I-30 Investors LLC dedicating rights of way and easements for construction of this extension.
In exchange for Highway I-30 Investors LLC donating Palace Parkway rights of way and easements, the City agreed to assist Highway I-30 Investors with their on-site tree removal at a price not to exceed $60,000. A representative of Highway I-30 Investors has since contacted the City and requested in writing that $7,250 of that total be spent to update their property survey.
Financial Consideration
Funding for the resolution amending the an agreement with Highway I-30 Investors, in the amount of $7,250 of tree removal funds go toward the cost of a new property survey, is available in the Street Capital Projects Fund (400192) WO #09903601-03 (Palace Connection).

A RESOLUTION OF THE CITY OF GRAND PRAIRIE, TEXAS, AMENDING aN Agreement with HIGHWAY I-30 INvestors LLC for dedication of rights of way and easements and Construction of A palace parkway EXTENSION
Whereas, the City of Grand Prairie, Miami Partners LLC and Highway I-30 Investors LLC still desire to extend Palace Parkway east from Belt Line Road to the IH-30 frontage road, helping create a levee that contributes to reclamation and eventual development of 55.5 acres of land wrapping the northeast corner of Belt Line Road and IH-30; and
Whereas, construction of the extension of Palace Parkway has already begun; and
Whereas, I-30 Investors LLC supported this proposal, and likewise desired to contribute necessary rights of way and easements-in exchange for the City assisting with tree removal, communications with USACOE and FEMA, and to incur no fees for deed acreage for Palace Parkway; and
Whereas, a representative of I-30 Investors LLC have submitted a written request that $7,250 of the funds approved for tree removal instead go toward the cost of a new property survey.
NOW THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED, by the City Council of the City of GRAND PRAIRIE, Texas that:
Section 1. THAT the City Manager is hereby authorized to negotiate and execute an agreement to effectuate this amendment’s approval.
