PURPOSE OF REQUEST:
The applicant is proposing to combine multiple lots & tracts into one lot and establish easements on the existing GPISD’s school property. Garner Fine Arts Academy & Westchester Elementary School provides public education to young people in adjacent neighborhoods and attracts additional school age children from across the Grand Prairie community. In addition, this plat proposes to combine the southern portion of the property into a single 21.3-acre campus in providing life skill within the existing residential-style facilities.
PROPOSED USE CHARACTERISTICS AND FUNCTION:
The existing public elementary school serves the surrounding neighborhoods providing public education for young children living in the Westchester community. Garner Fine Arts Academy attracts students from across the District and the anticipated Life-Skills Facility will be added to the property. Existing and proposed driveway and concrete drive (eastern-western) extensions along the southern portion of the school campus should ease vehicular circulation via Robinson Rd and Carrier Pkwy. An erosion hazard setback is identified on the plat. Note: Future driveway improvements may require a replat.
