Analysis
The Mountain Creek Relief Interceptor, Segments MC-7 and MC-8, will consist of approximately 16,900 linear feet of 72-inch and 84-inch diameter gravity wastewater pipeline. When constructed, this pipeline will replace the existing 48-inch and 60-inch unlined reinforced concrete pipe that was originally constructed in the mid-1970s.
The project generally follows Fish Creek and begins in the area of the Fish Creek Preserve, just south of East Crossland Boulevard and north of I-20. The pipeline follows the creek west under Carrier Parkway and through the southern drive of the -Carrier Towne Crossing shopping center. At the western end of the shopping center, the line will travel south under I-20 and then west along the creek and will cross under South Robinson Road to the area of Our Lane and will continue to follow the creek southwesterly between South Robinson Road and Vineyard Road, where it will cross under West Bardin Road. Still generally following the creek along property on the southeastern side of Lake Ridge Parkway and then crossing under to the north side of Lake Ridge Parkway just east of Matthew Road, the project alignment then travels generally southwest along the north side of Lake Ridge Parkway ending at Great Southwest Parkway.
(See attached alignment and parcel map as Exhibit “A” for location of new pipeline).
The existing pipeline provides wholesale wastewater service to the cities of Mansfield, Arlington, and Grand Prairie. The pipeline has been designed to accommodate existing and anticipated future development. The easements will not interfere with future development in those areas.
These six new easements are required in connection with TRA’s construction of Mountain Creek Interceptor Segments MC7 and MC8. Granting of these easements will be at no cost to either the City or TRA. These additional easement parcels are required because of the realignment to sections of the TRA interceptor lines. These new easement parcels are shown as Parcel Nos. 21, 22, 25, 26, 27 and 45.
