Staff received TXDOT full speed study on EB IH-30 frontage road from NW 7th Street to MacArthur Blvd. along with 50 MPH speed limit recommendation on newly constructed EB IH-30 frontage road from NE 7th Street to MacArthur Blvd. City ordinance is required to establish the enforceable speed on the newly constructed EB IH-30 frontage road, and TXDOT has committed to furnishing and installing the speed limit signs upon receipt of the City of Grand Prairie signed ordinance establishing the frontage road to be 50 mph.
Financial Consideration
The new EB frontage road will be signed by TXDOT and the City will incur no costs associated with posting the newly established speed limit.

AN ORDINANCE OF THE CITY OF GRAND PRAIRIE, TEXAS, AMENDING SCHEDULE II OF THE TRAFFIC REGISTER TO ESTABLISH MAXIMUM SPEED LIMITS GREATER THAN 30 MPH; REPEALING ALL ORDINANCES IN CONFLICT HEREWITH; AND TO BECOME EFFECTIVE UPON ITS PASSAGE, APPROVAL AND PUBLICATION
NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT ORDAINED BY THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF GRAND PRAIRIE, TEXAS:
SECTION 1. THAT Schedule II - Establish Maximum Speed Limits Greater than 30 mph shall be amended by adding the following:
ADD:
STREET OR PART OF MAXIMUM SPEED TIME EFFECTIVE
IH-30 EB FRONTAGE ROAD 50 MPH At All Times
From: NW 7th Street
To: MacArthur Blvd
SECTION 2. THAT this section, subsection, sentence, clause, phrase, or portion of this ordinance is for any reason held invalid or unconstitutional by any court or competent jurisdiction, such shall be deemed a separate, distinct and independent provision and such holding shall not affect the validity remaining portions thereof.
SECTION 3. THAT all ordinances or part of ordinances in conflict with this ordinance are hereby repealed.
SECTION 4. THAT this ordinance shall be in full force and effect from and after its passage, approval and publication.
