Analysis
On Tuesday, August 15, 2017 the City of Grand Prairie opened bids for 20th Street and Walnut Drainage Improvements, W.O.# 616.43. The low bidder is Guerrero’s Construction in the Bid amount of $418,302.50.
This project was identified as part of the FY17 Capital Projects Budget and Capital Projects Plan for Proposed Storm Drainage Projects. The 20th Street and Walnut Drainage Improvements project addresses the channel erosion problems occurring in the back yards at 2001, 2005 and 2009 Walnut Street, erosion along a channel pond at 2037 Walnut Street, erosion at the drainage outfalls to the channel and flooding at the street sag at NE 19th Street draining through the yards at 1102 and 1106 NE 19th Street to NE 20th Street.
This project provides for the installation of storm drain pipes, inlets, channel improvements, pavement repair and miscellaneous related items of work.

Construction of this project is scheduled to begin around the end of September 2017 with projected completion around January 2018.
