Analysis
In order to prevent traffic from approaching either Dubiski High School or Marshall Elementary School through the neighborhood against established circulation routes, and to enhance traffic flow around both campuses, a one-way designation is recommended. The one-way would originate on Fieldcrest Drive north of the main drives to both schools (380’ north of Warrior Trail) northbound and continue eastbound on Valley Brook Lane up to Boundbrook Lane.
This one-way designation will match the existing school zone effective times of 7:15 am until 8:30 am and from 3:20 pm until 4:20 pm on school days.
Financial Consideration
The new one-way section will be established using static signs and solar powered flashers. Costs associated with this new one-way designation will be paid out of the Street operating budget.

AN ORDINANCE OF THE CITY OF GRAND PRAIRIE, TEXAS, AMENDING SCHEDULE IV OF THE TRAFFIC REGISTER DESIGNATED STREETS AND ALLEYWAYS AS ONE-WAY; REPEALING ALL ORDINANCES IN CONFLICT HEREWITH; AND TO BECOME EFFECTIVE UPON ITS PASSAGE, APPROVAL AND PUBLICATION.
NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT ORDAINED BY THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF GRAND PRAIRIE, TEXAS:
SECTION 1. THAT Schedule IV - Designated Streets and Alleyways as One-Way shall be amended by adding the following:
ADD:
STREET OR PART OF DESIGNATION TIME EFFECTIVE
Fieldcrest Drive One-Way Northbound During School Zone Times
From: 380’ N of Warrior Trail 7:15 am to 8:30 am
To: north end of Fieldcrest Drive 3:20 pm to 4:20 pm
Valley Brook Lane One-Way Eastbound During School Zone Times
From: west end of Valley Brook Lane 7:15 am to 8:30 am
To: Boundbrook Lane 3:20 pm to 4:20 pm
SECTION 2. THAT this section, subsection, sentence, clause, phrase, or portion of this ordinance is for any reason held invalid or unconstitutional by any court or competent jurisdiction, such shall be deemed a separate, distinct and independent provision and such holding shall not affect the validity of the remaining portions thereof.
SECTION 3. THAT all ordinances or part of ordinances in conflict with this ordinance are hereby repealed.
SECTION 4. THAT this ordinance shall be in full force and effect from and after its passage, approval and publication.
