Analysis
On September 5, 2017, a developer agreement was approved by City Council (17-6864) for the construction of water, paving, and drainage of Arlington Webb-Britton Road and Grandway Drive, in conjunction with the La Jolla Phase 2 and 3 residential developments, in the not to exceed amount of $506,000 based on the engineer’s estimate.
First Texas Homes has started construction of Phase 2 of the La Jolla development. The engineer of record for the development, JBI Partners, Inc., has provided the design documents for the roadway and utilities for both Arlington Webb-Britton Road and Grandway Drive. All public participation in the cost of the Public Improvements associated with the project is dedicated to the extension of the improvements as per the Capital Improvements Plan, to increase necessary capacity for existing and in anticipation of other future development in the area as approved in the City’s Capital Improvement Projects budget.
After approval of the original developer agreement, it was discovered that some construction items were not included in the original agreement, therefore City staff is recommending the approval of Change Order/Amendment No. 1 to the Developer Participation Agreement in the amount of $79,144.28, for an overall project total of $585,144.28.
Financial Consideration
Funding in the total amount of $79,144.28 is available as follows:
1. $74,729.78 is available in Street Capital Project Fund (400192) WO #01707603 (Grandway Arlington Webb Britton STRT) 68540 (Construction)
2. $4,414.50 is available in Water Capital Project Fund (500592) WO #01710903 (Grandway Arlington Webb Britton WTER) 68540 (Construction)
