Analysis
The City Council approved a contract with Axon, Inc., in October 2016, for the purchase of body worn cameras and mobile vehicle cameras, as part of a comprehensive mobile technology upgrade. Axon now offers an interview room recording solution, that will integrate with the other Axon products the Police Department currently uses. The Police Department is seeking to upgrade its existing interview room recording system, and convert to the Axon system. The additional cost for the first year of the revised contract will be $161,799.44, and $41,216.00 for the three subsequent remaining years, for a grand total increase of $285,447.44.
