Analysis
The City contracted Brandt to perform an engineering evaluation of the existing underfloor HVAC system and its corresponding control network for the 911/Communications Center. Brandt completed this assessment and proposed a long term solution to the multi-faceted problem.
The Finance and Government Committee reviewed this item on June 2, 2015, and recommended that it be forwarded to the City Council.
Financial Consideration
Funding for Authorizing the City Manager to enter into a contract with Brandt for services to re-design and retrofit the heating, venting, and air conditioning (HVAC) system of the PSB to solve the air flow problems in the Communications Center (911 Dispatch) for cost of $220,044 is available by approving an ordinance transferring and appropriating from the unobligated fund balance in the Capital Reserve Fund (402590) WO #01512803 (HVAC PSB 911) 68540 construction.

AN ORDINANCE OF THE CITY OF GRAND PRAIRIE, TEXAS, AMENDING THE FY 2014/2015 CAPITAL IMPROVEMENT PROJECTS BUDGET BY TRANSFERRING AND APPROPRIATING $220,044 FROM THE UNOBLIGATED FUND BALANCE IN THE CAPITAL RESERVE FUND (402590), WO #01512803 (HVAC PSB 911)
NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT ORDAINED BY THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF GRAND PRAIRIE, TEXAS;
SECTION 1. THAT THE FY 2014/2015 Capital Improvement Projects Budget be amended by approving an ordinance transferring and appropriating $220,044 from the unobligated fund balance in the Capital Reserve Fund (402590) WO #01512803 (HVAC PSB 911).
