Analysis

The City of Grand Prairie is entering into a partnership agreement with TxDOT for construction of traffic signals along IH30 at the intersection of IH30 at Carrier Pkwy, and IH30 at NW 7th Street.

 

Texas Department of Transportation will construct traffic signals along IH30 frontage road with frontage road construction. City of Grand Prairie will purchase the required traffic signal equipment using existing price agreement, and provide the equipment to the contractor for installation.  TxDOT will then reimburse the City for 100 percent of the cost of the equipment which consists of traffic signal controller, the controller cabinet, and Battery Backup system (BBS) including street name signs for a total amount of $54,250.

 

Financial Consideration

The $54,250 for traffic signal equipment will be paid from the Grant Fund ACCT NO 36518018 and reimbursed by TxDOT.

A RESOLUTION OF THE CITY OF GRAND PRAIRIE, TEXAS, A RESOLUTION AUTHORIZING THE CITY MANAGER TO ENTER INTO AN AGREEMENT WITH TXDOT FOR THE CONSTRUCTION OF TRAFFIC SIGNALS AT IH30 AT CARRIER PKWY, AND IH30 AT NW 7TH STREET

 

Whereas,                       the Texas Department of Transportation (TxDOT) will install traffic signals at IH30 at Carrier Pkwy, and IH30 at NW 7th St; and

 

Whereas,                      the Local Government will provide traffic signal equipment to the contractor in an amount of $54,250.00; and

 

Whereas,                      the Texas Department of Transportation will reimburse Local Government for any equipment provided to the contractor for traffic signal installation.

                     

NOW THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED, by the City Council of the City of GRAND PRAIRIE, Texas that:

 

Section 1.  The City Manager is hereby authorized to enter into an agreement with TxDOT for construction of traffic signals at IH30 at Carrier Pkwy, and IH30 at NW 7th St; and

 

PASSED AND APPROVED BY THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF GRAND PRAIRIE, TEXAS, JUNE 19, 2018.
