Analysis
The purchase of one new additional ambulance in the Fire Department for Station 7 is a planned purchase for FY 2011. It is the Fire Department's recommendation to purchase a 2010 Frazer Type I Dodge Ram 4500 using the HGAC price agreement from Frazer Ltd. through licensed franchise dealer Chaperral Dodge Inc dba Dallas Dodge Chrysler Jeep.
Tools, equipment and supplies to supply and equip the new ambulance will be purchased using current price agreements for a cost of $62,375. Small items not on price agreements total $1,025 to include decals and installation (estimate $400), seat covers (estimate $250), organizational containers (estimate $350), locks/keys/nuts/bolts/double sided tape (estimate $25). Amounts are based on purchases made in FY 2010. Total for tools, equipment and supplies is $63,400.
Financial Consideration
The purchase of one new ambulance, tools and equipment is a planned project in the FY10/11 Fire Capital Projects Fund (400591). Funding for the purchase of one new ambulance, tools and equipment in the amount of $203,275 is available as follows:
1. $187,325 is available in Fire Capital Projects Fund (400591), WO #01100803 (Ambulance Station 7).
2. $15,950 is available by transferring and appropriating from the unobligated fund balance of the Fire Capital Projects Fund (400591) to the Fire Capital Projects Fund (400591), WO #01100803 (Ambulance Station 7).

AN ORDINANCE OF THE CITY OF GRAND PRAIRIE, TEXAS, AMENDING THE FY 10/11 CAPITAL IMPROVEMENT PROJECTS BUDGET BY TRANSFERRING AND APPROPRIATING $15,950 FROM THE UNOBLIGATED FUND BALANCE IN THE FIRE CAPITAL PROJECTS FUND (400591) TO THE FIRE CAPITAL PROJECTS FUND (400591), WO #01100803 (AMBULANCE STATION 7).
NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT ORDAINED BY THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF GRAND PRAIRIE, TEXAS:
SECTION 1. THAT THE FY 10/11 Capital Improvement Projects Budget be amended by transferring and appropriating $15,950 from the unobligated fund balance in the Fire Capital Projects Fund (400591) to to the Fire Capital Projects Fund (400591), WO #01100803 (Ambulance Station 7).
