Analysis

This price agreement is for the purchase and delivery of various concrete supplies (redwood, yellow pine, spruce pine, curb ears, crack sealant, bar ties, etc.) for use in concrete pavement of roadways, sidewalks and handicap ramps throughout the City.

 

Notice of bid # 19002 was viewed by 12 vendors.  There were no Grand Prairie vendors available for this commodity.  A total of three bids were received as shown on Attachment A. 

 

Staff recommends awarding the Redwood, Curb Ears, Chairs, Wood Stakes, Pine Fir, Nails and Baker Brooms to Barnsco, Inc., the Lap Siding, Bar Ties, Chairs, Curing Compound, Wood Stakes and Quickrete to CMC, Inc., and the Felt Expansion Joints, Spruce Pine Fir, Yellow Pine, and Quickrete with Craddock Lumber Co.  All three vendors meet required specifications. This decision to split the bid provides the best value to the City.

 

Financial Consideration

Funding for the concrete supplies is available in the FY 2018/2019 General Fund Street Maintenance (251210-63030) and will be charged accordingly on orders throughout the end of the current fiscal year.  Funding for future fiscal years will be paid from that year's approved budgets.
