Analysis
This project was identified as part of the FY18 Capital Projects Budget and Capital Projects Plan for Proposed Storm Drainage Projects. The GPISD Bus Barn - Drainage Improvements addresses flooding complaints from GPISD in Sunnybrook Street which is also the access road to Charley Taylor Park and the Grand Prairie Independent School District bus barn complex by providing a storm drainage relief line of size 24 inch diameter with two grate inlets and associated items of work to provide the needed project improvements.
On Tuesday, April 3, 2019 the City of Grand Prairie advertised and received seven (7) bids for GPISD Bus Barn - Drainage Improvements (W.O. 619.63). The bids were checked for errors and omissions and found one each for La Banda and Atkins Brothers. The original La Banda bid was $131,102.00 and the corrected bid is $130,932.00 The original Atkins Brothers bid was $317,264.00 and the corrected bid is $310,464.00. The Seven bids received for this project are as follows:

Based on Consultant recommendations, Staff also recommends that this project be awarded to the low bid received from La Banda, LLC in the amount of $130,932.00.
Construction of this project is scheduled to begin in May 2019 with projected completion on or before August 5, 2019 so as to not interfere with the school bus traffic using Sunnybrook Street.
Financial Consideration
Funding in the total amount of $149,317 is available as follows:
1. $130,255 is available in Storm Drainage Capital Projects Fund (401592) WO #01906303 (GPISD Bus Barn Drainage Improvements)
2. $19,062 is available by approving an ordinance transferring and appropriating from the unobligated fund balance in the Storm Drainage Capital Projects Fund (401592) to WO #01906303 (GPISD Bus Barn Drainage Improvements)

NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT ORDAINED BY THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF GRAND PRAIRIE, TEXAS:
SECTION 1. THAT THE FY 2018/2019 Capital Improvement Projects Budget be amended by transferring and appropriating $19,062 from the unobligated fund balance in the Storm Drainage Capital Projects Fund (401592) to WO #01906303 (GPISD Bus Barn Drainage Improvements)
