Analysis
Funds in the amount of $175,000 were appropriated in the FY 2013/2014 Hotel Motel Building Fund (310217-68540) for construction ($150,000) and furnishings ($25,000) for the construction of a two bedroom cabin at Loyd Park. On July 15, 2014, City Council approved a change order in the amount of $109,000 with Symone Construction for development of the cabin unit. The change order added this improvement to their contract for construction of the Loyd Park Lodging Facility.
Furnishings in the amount of $25,000 was encumbered and under contract, however, the remaining $41,000 was not used immediately and subsequently dropped back into the unobligated fund balance at fiscal year-end. These funds are now required to complete the construction of the cabin and include funding for the fire suppression system, utility extensions and paved driveway.
This proposed ordinance was presented and approved by the Finance and Government Committee on April 7, 2015.
Financial Consideration
Funding for the completion of construction for the Loyd Park Cabin Project, in the amount $41,000 is available by approving an ordinance transferring and appropriating from the unobligated fund balance in the FY 2014/2015 Hotel Motel Building Fund (310217) to account (68540).

AN ORDINANCE OF THE CITY OF GRAND PRAIRIE, TEXAS, AMENDING THE FY 2014/2015 HOTEL MOTEL BUILDING FUND BY TRANSFERRING AND APPROPRIATING $41,000 FROM UNOBLIGATED FUND BALANCE IN THE THE HOTEL MOTEL FUND (310217) TO ACCOUNT (68540).
NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT ORDAINED BY THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF GRAND PRAIRIE, TEXAS:
SECTION 1. THAT the FY 2014/2015 Hotel Motel Building Fund be amended by transferring and appropriating $41,000 from the unobligated fund balance in the Hotel Motel Building Fund (310217) to account (68540).
