Analysis
During the spring rains a portion of the slope failed along the west side of Henry Branch between and Grand Prairie Road and E. Dallas Road. Plans and specifications were prepared and bid to repair this section of the slope failure.
On Tuesday, October 1, 2019 the City of Grand Prairie advertised and received two (2) bids for Henry Branch Slope Repair - under the Miscellaneous Drainage Improvements Project (W.O. 619.67). The bids were checked for errors and omissions and found some for the second low bidder. The Base Bid for the Low Bidder Sandoval-Patel Construction, LLC is $188,206.00 with the additive Alternate Bid of $9,320.00 to place sod for total amount of $197,626.00. The corrected Bid for Rock Solid is $424,002.00 and Negative 1,600.00 for the Additive Alternate #1 bid for total amount of $422,402.00.
Based on Consultant recommendations, Staff also recommends that this project be awarded to the low bid received from Sandoval-Patel Construction LLC in a base bid amount of $188,306 and Additive Alternate #1 Bid of 9,320 for the total amount of $197,626
Construction of this project is scheduled to begin in late October 2019 with projected completion on or before February, 2020.
