The member cities of the Southeast Tarrant Transportation (SETT) have come together to support the designation of the SH360 South Extension as the "Senator Chris Harris Memorial Highway" since Senator Harris was a strong proponent of this extension from the inception of the project.

A RESOLUTION OF THE CITY OF GRAND PRAIRIE, TEXAS, TO SUPPORT LEGISLATION DESIGNATING THE SH360 SOUTH EXTENSION AS THE SENATOR CHRIS HARRIS MEMORIAL HIGHWAY
Whereas, the Southeast Tarrant Transportation (SETT) Partnership is comprised of Tarrant County, the cities of Arlington, Kennedale, Mansfield, and Grand Prairie, area chambers of commerce, businesses, and citizens; and
WHEREAS, SETT strives to develop transportation projects within southeast Tarrant County through a collaborative approach between local government, state officials, and business and community leaders; and
WHEREAS, Senator Chris Harris was a thoughtful and insightful state legislator, having served in the Texas House of Representatives from 1985 to 1991 and the Texas Senate from 1991 to 2013; and
WHEREAS, Senator Harris also served the people of North Texas as an accomplished attorney focusing on family and business law; and
WHEREAS, Senator Harris’ legislative accomplishments are many, and include leading the University of Texas at Arlington (UTA) into one of the premier universities in the state of Texas and the Nation, and securing funding for a number of essential UTA programs, including the renowned College of Nursing and Health Innovation and the College of Engineering; and
WHEREAS, Senator Harris was instrumental in laying the groundwork for the extension of State Highway 360 (SH 360) from IH-20 to US 287; and
