Analysis
As part of the FY 2016/2017 CIP, funds were approved for the design of water, wastewater, drainage and paving improvements of Acosta Dr. from E. Cober to Nunez Drive.
This project provides for engineering and surveying services for the reconstruction of 1,100 linear feet of 22-foot wide existing asphalt pavement street to a 27-foot wide concrete pavement street and the addition of 5-foot wide sidewalks (none are currently present). It will also provide for the replacement of 279 linear feet of existing 6” wastewater main with 8” PVC wastewater main, replacement of 255 linear feet of existing 6”and 8” water main with 8” PVC water main, and other miscellaneous related improvements. This project also provides for the addition of storm drain infrastructure along Acosta Street, as bar ditches are currently in place for the conveyance of storm water runoff in the area. In total, approximately 1,544 linear feet of storm drain pipe from 18 inches to 42 inches in diameter and 26 storm drain inlets will be constructed as part of this project.
Design of this project will be scheduled to begin in March 2017 with anticipated completion in May 2017.
