Analysis
As part of the City’s ongoing Capital Improvements Program, wastewater locations in decaying condition are recommended for replacement by the Water Utilities staff on a yearly basis. City staff has prepared plans and specifications to replace old, decaying wastewater mains in various locations throughout the city with new wastewater mains. For this design package, a total of three (3) locations were identified, and include the following wastewater improvements:
· Replacement of 1,319 linear feet of wastewater main with 8” PVC wastewater main by open cut, replacement of 602 linear feet of wastewater main with 8” wastewater main by cured-in-place pipe (CIPP) method, and replacement of 65 linear feet of wastewater main with 8” wastewater main by pipe bursting along Tarrant Road between Stadium Drive and Interstate 30.
· Replacement of 2,145 linear feet of wastewater main with 8” PVC wastewater main by open cut along Galveston Street between W. Jefferson Street and SW 19th Street.
· Replacement of 317 linear feet of wastewater main with 8” PVC wastewater main by open cut along Marshall Drive east of the intersection of S. Belt Line Road and Marshall Drive.
