Analysis
Transportation Services has received numerous complaints from area businesses and City departments concerning excessive on-street parking along both sides of Central Avenue. This ordinance is to restrict parking along both sides of the roadway between NE 25th Street and NE 26th Street in the interest of safety, visibility, and mobility for the area.
Financial Consideration
Funding for the costs to furnish and install the necessary signs is available in the FY 2015/2016 General Fund Budget, Signs and Markings Maintenance Budget, account 251910-63115.

AN ORDINANCE OF THE CITY OF GRAND PRAIRIE, TEXAS, AMENDING SCHEDULE VI OF THE TRAFFIC REGISTER TO RESTRICT PARKING ALONG CENTRAL AVENUE BETWEEN NE 25TH STREET AND NE 26TH STREET
WHEREAS, Parking is currently permitted on both sides of Central Avenue between NE 25th Street and NE 26th Street and it is causing safety, visibility and mobility issues for the area;
NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT ORDAINED BY THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF GRAND PRAIRIE, TEXAS:
SECTION 1. THAT Schedule VI - Parking Prohibited at All Times on Certain Streets be amended by adding the following:

THEREOF
Central Avenue No Parking/Tow Away At All Times
(Both sides of street)
From: NE 25th St
To: NE 26th St
SECTION 2. THAT this section, subsection, sentence, clause, phrase, or portion of this ordinance is for any reason held invalid or unconstitutional by any court or competent jurisdiction, such shall be deemed a separate, distinct and independent provision and such holding shall not affect the validity of the remaining portions thereof.
