Analysis
As a part of the FY 2016 Fire Capital Improvements budget, City Council approved $155,000 for the purchase of Holmatro equipment. The Fire Department is recommending utilizing the Buy Board price agreement for the Holmatro equipment purchase.
Holmatro, known as the "Jaws of Life", is a brand name rescue tool the Fire Department has used for over 10 years and has proven to be very reliable. Current equipment has exceeded its useful life and is now being phased in over a two year period. The recommended replacement for these rescue tools is 10 years. In keeping with the continuity of existing equipment it is the Fire Department's recommendation to continue purchasing the Holmatro brand rescue tools.
