Analysis
Guard rails are designed and installed to protect errant vehicles from leaving the roadway and striking a fixed object, steep slope or body of water. Many of the existing guard rails within the City are in need of maintenance due to natural deterioration or by vehicular accidents. Public Works / Streets has found guard rails in need of repairs higher than average this year and is requesting additional funds.
Staff projects this amount will be sufficient for the remainder of the fiscal year.

Funding in the amount of $100,000 is available by approving an ordinance transferring and appropriating from the unobligated fund balance in the Street Capital Projects Fund (400192) to WO #01809003 (FY18 Guard Rails)
