Analysis
The purpose of this project is to construct a new culvert under Tarrant Road at the Arbor Creek crossing and also raise the minimum roadway elevation of Tarrant Road at the crossing location. The existing culvert in place is undersized and the profile of Tarrant Road at the culvert location is located within the 100-year floodplain, so frequent overtopping of the culvert onto the roadway occurs during heavy storm events.
This project provides for engineering and surveying services for the removal of the existing culverts under Tarrant Road at Arbor Creek and replacing them with six (6) proposed 10-foot by 10-foot (each) box culverts. The upgrade to the proposed box culverts will allow the 100-year design flow for Arbor Creek to be safely conveyed under the crossing with Tarrant Road. Also included in this project is raising the minimum top of road elevation at the crossing to 501.7 feet. This work will include the removal and replacement of the existing pavement along Tarrant Road for a stretch of approximately 1,000 feet centered on the crossing with Arbor Creek. Also provided for in this contract will be adjustments of the existing water and wastewater utilities and other utilities in the area and traffic control plans for the construction phasing of the project.
Design of this project is scheduled to begin in March/April 2016 with anticipated completion in July 2016.
