Analysis
On August 1, 2017, the City Council approved a construction contract with Layne in the amount of $1,283,143 for the construction of an irrigation well at Central Park; material testing with Alliance Geotechnical Group in the amount of $6,040; 5% contract contingency in the amount of $64,157; In-house engineering in the amount of $64,157, for a total project cost of $1,417,497.
This Change order/Amendment No. 3 in the amount of $96,432.50 provides for discharging well water into the wastewater system during well development phase until water turbidity levels (cloudiness) fall below 280 NTU as required by Texas commission on environmental quality (TCEQ) for storm water discharges. Discharging into the wastewater system is anticipated to take up to 2 weeks; after which, water can be discharged into the ponds.
Change order/Amendment No.1 provided for time extension.
Change order/Amendment No.2 provided for time extension.
Revised project completion date is June 18, 2018.
Financial Consideration
Funding for change order #3 is available by approving an ordinance transferring and appropriating $96,432.50 from the unobligated fund balance in the Park Capital Projects Fund (317193) to WO #01715403 (Grand Central Water Well).
