Analysis
As part of the FY 2015 CIP budget, City Council approved $386,250 for the replacement of two ambulances and other related equipment (WO#01501003). The Fire Department is requesting a budget increase of $40,160 and authorization to purchase the following:

2 - 2015 Dodge Ram 4500 Type 1 Ambulances - $344,900
The trade-in of two 2006 Ford F350 reduces the cost by $10,000 and is recommended by the department due to age, mileage and performance.

2 - Power Load Systems - $44,730.32
The Fire Department recommends upgrading to the Power Load System to be used with the Power Pro XT stretchers. The Power Load System is an automatic stretcher loading system designed to reduce back injuries. The department initially purchased two of these units for testing in August 2014. We have received positive support from staff testing these units and feel injuries will be furthered reduced by upgrading to this system.
