The City of Grand Prairie has been sued by a local resident, David Rodriguez, for alleged violations of the voting rights act. The city has hired outside attorney, Robert Heath, to provide a defense of the existing combination of at-large and single member district elections.
Financial Consideration
Funding for litigation costs beyond the current allocation is available in the FY 2014/2015 General Fund contingency reserve.
